kickboxing classes and my passion for people and fitness grew. In 2002, I certified as a Personal Trainer with Can-Fit-Pro and decided to make Personal Training my career. Over the years, I have accomplished some of my own personal goals. I have completed a mini-triathlon, a 15K running race and participated in cardio kickboxing marathons for charity! I also was mentored and trained under a certified Pro-Trainer to further develop my own skills. In 2004 we moved to New York to work at a home for troubled teens. My life was full and rewarding but I had to put personal training on hold. Since moving back to Ontario in 2008, I have been looking forward to getting back into the fitness world and have since re-established my Personal Training credentials. My specialty areas are weight loss, strength training, core strengthening, flexibility and functional training. I would love to share my passion for fitness with you. Together we can make exercise a functional, more enjoyable, and balanced part of your lifestyle!

I have been a certified personal trainer and fitness Instructor since 2006, but that is not the beginning of my story. I have always lead an active lifestyle. Starting with twelve years of formal training in dance and then holding many memberships at various gyms created a foundation and passion for fitness that continues today.I am a mother of two wonderful children and with the joy of these children also came some extra unwanted pounds. After learning proper work out techniques and proper nutrition I finally managed to shed 50 pounds and gain the drive to keep going! So you can see that I am no stranger to challenge and I can relate on a personal level when discussing weight struggles and personal challenges. I began training in various local gym environments with clients ranging from age 10 to age 80 with

My name is Sharron Dykxhoorn and my desire is that fitness and healthy living would be an enjoyable part of your life!
My fitness journey began in 1995 after having my second child. I wanted to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I faithfully started exercising at a gym and I was motivated by the results I was seeing. It wasn’t just the weight loss but I was gaining strength and had more energy to look after my two young children! I liked how I was feeling and decided to push myself to the next level. I joined a cardio kick boxing class and I was hooked! I continued to train and from 1997–2002, I worked at a Karate school teaching cardio

I have always had a passion for health and fitness and actually started my career as a nurse. Working with people suffering from disease was a real eye opener to the fact that lifestyle choices seemed to be the number one determining factor in the onset of disease and decreased quality of life. I felt very helpless while working with people to manage disease symptoms and thought to myself over and over "what if they had just had the right help and guidance earlier in life to make better choices and take better care of themselves?" That was when I decided to make the switch to my true passion.... Fitness! Creating goals and setting up the proper pathway to achieve those goals in order to live the happiest and healthiest life possible for my clients became my mission. 18 years ago when I picked up my first set of
pregnancy and then through my next 2 pregnancies and being a young mother. I was furthering my education with STOTT Pilates and studying to become a holistic nutritionist but I kept turning to yoga to balance my busy life. It was then that I also decided to take a 200 hour Yoga teachers certification. It was so unbelievably therapeutic to my aching body from teaching group fitness classes and being so busy with my kids. I was hooked and wanted to share this feeling with others!
I most enjoy being out in the fresh air hiking and trail running with my dog, practicing Yoga and pilates, running (completed 2 half marathons) and spin classes. Another favourite activity is tweaking unhealthy recipes (especially cookies!) and making them healthy and yummy.
varying levels of fitness and ability. Some of these gyms included Figures, Power Zone, and Lets Get Fit. I have worked one-on-one with my clients and also in small groups. I have also taught numerous fitness classes both at these gyms and for the Town of Halton Hills. Another hobby of mine is running. I started about 5 years ago and completed two half marathons in 2009. I now enjoy running with my daughter who is involved in the AGSI running group in Georgetown. In 2008 I decided to try training from a home-based gym. I have found that it offers a much more relaxed environment for my clients where they can be themselves. I am one of the few people who can honestly say that I truly love my job and you will find that my intention is to make your workout enjoyable as well as effective. Let me help you to Get up, Get out, and Get going!!!
